Welcome to the third blog post in the series: NWO Vidi grant application journey (#NWOVidi2025diaries). You can check out the first blog post here and the second blog post here. In the second blog post I mentioned that I had to do a “revise and resubmit” after the first administrative checks of my submission. In this third and final post of the #NWOVidi2025diaries series in 2025, I wanted to give an update on where things stand and the timelines for what comes next.

My pre-proposal application has now been cleared by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to be fully eligible following my revision. For the curious of you, here is the (working) title for my Vidi pre-proposal:
The tour(ism) encounter at contested heritage sites: tour guides, moral emotions and the tentacular activation of cultural memory
Now I can only sit tight and wait for the review process to take its due course over the coming weeks. It is now totally out of my hands and I am going to put my ideas on the shelf for now. After the Christmas break, I might slowly begin to think more about unpacking my ideas to see how it might develop into a full proposal.
Here is how the timeline will shape up if I get through the pre-proposal application phase with a positive advice to submit a full application
